Celecoxib should not be used with alcohol. Alcohol intake is one of the risk factors for upper and lower gastrointestinal complications such as perforations, ulcers or bleedings. Consuming celecoxib with alcohol may increase the likelihood of developing the complications.
Celecoxib must be used with care during pregnancy. Animal reproduction studies demonstrate adverse effects on the fetus, and there are no adequate studies in pregnant women before 30 weeks of gestation. In women after 30 weeks of gestation, there is evidence of adverse effects on the fetal renal system and premature closure of the ductus arteriosus. Celecoxib is shown to be excreted at concentration similar to that in the plasma in the milk of rats. Although it is said that there is very little excretion of celecoxib into human breast milk, it is not advisable for women to breastfeed while consuming Celecoxib.
