How Lignocaine Works

Lidocaine/Lignocaine is an anaesthetic drug where it works by stabilizing neural membrane and inhibiting sodium ion movements thus the conduction of impulses is blocked. Lidocaine/Lignocaine also reduces depolarization of the ventricles.

Side Effects of Lignocaine

Headache, Drowsiness, Hallucinations, Lightheadedness, Lethargy, Nausea, Vomiting, Bradycardia, Arrhythmias, Oedema, Hypotension, Agitation, Anxiety, Confusion, Metallic taste, Slurred speech

Alcohol Not Advisable

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Lidocaine/Lignocaine. Taking Lidocaine/Lignocaine with alcohol may interfere with the efficacy of Lignocaine and may potentiate the side effects.

Pregnancy Maybe Safe
