Liothyronine is a man-made hormone. It increases the basal metabolic rate of carbohydrates, fats and proteins and involved in the regulation and differentiation of cell growth.

There is no information regarding drug interactions between alcohol and Liothyronine.

Pregnancy Safe If Prescribed

Liothyronine is safe to use during pregnancy as animal studies and human studies showed no adverse effects on the fetus.

Lactation Not Advisable

Liothyronine is probably unsafe to use during lactation as it is excreted in human milk. It may also interfere with neonatal screening programmes.

Driving Generally Safe

Liothyronine has no influence on the ability to concentrate and drive.

Kidney Safe If Prescribed

Dose adjustment of Liothyronine is not needed.

Liver Use With Care

Liothyronine can be used in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of Liothyronine is needed. Please consult your doctor.
