How Norgestrel Works

Norgestrel is used in combination with Ethinylestradiol. They create unfavourable condition for conception by affecting other changes such as changes in the cervical mucus and the endometrium.

GI disturbances, Breakthrough bleeding, High cholesterol level, High blood pressure (Hypertension), Headache, Oedema, Changes mood , Melasma

Norgestrel Related Warnings

Alcohol Safe

It is safe to consume alcohol with Norgestrel as there is no known drug interaction.

Pregnancy Not Safe - High Risk

Norgestrel is contraindicated in pregnancy.

Lactation Not Advisable

Norgestrel in combined oral contraceptive pill is not recommended to be used during lactation as it decreases the quantity and constituent of human breast milk.

Driving Generally Safe

Norgestrel does not cause side effects that could affect the ability to concentrate and drive.

Kidney Use With Care

Norgestrel should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Renal function and blood pressure should be monitored frequently.

Liver Use With Care

Norgestrel is contraindicated in patients with liver disease.
