Pirfenidone is commonly used to treat idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis
Pirfenidone is an immunosuppressants and an antifibrotic agent that works by decreasing the amount of inflammatory cells and factors that were found in high amounts in patients with lung fibrosis.

Although taking Pirfenidone with alcohol may be safe, it is only allowed in very small amount.

It is not known about Pirfenidone effect and excretion in human milk, but animal studies has suggested that the medication is found in the milk.
Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Pirfenidone may cause side effects such as fatigue and dizziness, all of which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive.
Pirfenidone can be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease. However, it is contraindicated in patients with severe kidney disease.
Pirfenidone cannot be used in patients with liver problems.
