Sulbactam is commonly used to treat bacterial infections, severe bacterial infections
Sulbactam is a B-lactamase inhibitor that is usually used in combination with penicillin or cephalosporin as it can enhance their activities by preventing the breakdown by bacterial cells.
Gut disturbances, Allergic reaction, Stevens-Johnson syndrome
Alcohol may further accentuate the symptoms of gut disturbances caused by Sulbactam. Thus, it is not advisable to consume alcohol and Sulbactam concomitantly.
Animal studies have not shown reproductive toxicities and there are no well-established human studies. It is safe to be used during pregnancy when indicated. Please consult your doctor.
Excretion of Sulbactam is known to be in small amount in human breast milk. Thus, it is advisable to use Sulbactam cautiously during breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor.
