Zinc oxide is commonly used in dermatitis or atopic dermatitis
Zinc Oxide is an ingredient usually found in moisture foundation, sunscreen and lotion creams. It may soothe and protect the skin by providing a physical barrier to the skin. It has weak antiseptic properties, can reflect UV radiation and may sometimes be used as a sunscreen.

There's also no data on the excretion of Zinc Oxide into human milk. Thus, appropriate use of topical zinc oxide is generally safe during breastfeeding.
