Kloraxin 1% Eye Ointment 5g is not recommended in pregnant women. Some animal studies have shown side effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Benefits may outweigh the risk in pregnant woman so please consult your doctor.
Breastfeeding Warning(Not Advisable)
Kloraxin 1% Eye Ointment 5g is contraindicated to patients who are currently breastfeeding as Kloraxin 1% Eye Ointment 5g is excreted in the breastmilk and have cause adverse effects to breastfed infant such as loss of appetite and heavy vomitting.
Driving Warning (Not Advisable)
It is not advised to drive after taking Kloraxin 1% Eye Ointment 5g, especially if medication is taken in the form of eye drops as it may blur your vision causing disruption to the driver.
Kidney Warning(Use With Care)
Kloraxin 1% Eye Ointment 5g should be used with caution in patients with significantly impaired renal disease kidney disease. Dose adjustments may be needed. Please consult your doctor before using it.
Liver Warning(Use With Care)

Recommended dosage: Adult and children above 6 years: Apply into the conjunctival sac of the lower eye lid 4-6 times daily, until infection has resolved or as directed by your doctor.

This medicine is for external use only. Always wash your hands before and after applying the eye ointment. Hold the tube close to the eye without touching the surface to avoid contamination. Pull down the lower eyelid to form a pouch. Gently squeeze the tube to dispense the desired amount of ointment onto a clean finger and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Slowly release the lower eyelid and blink a few times to spread the ointment. Wipe off any extra liquid. Ensure to replace and tighten the cap straight after use.
As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.
GI symptoms; bleeding; peripheral and optic neuritis, visual impairment, blindness; encephalopathy, confusion, delirium, mental depression, headache. Haemolysis in patients with G6PD deficiency, Hypersensitivity reactions (rashes, fever and angioedema) Eye drop: Blurred vision. Ear drops: Ototoxicity.
