The medication Apo-Nitrofurantoin 100mg Tablet must be taken according to the doctor's instructions for dosage and duration. Take it with meals if you want to prevent nausea, which is a frequent adverse effect of this medication. This medication should be taken at the same time every day in order to reap the most benefit, and you should continue to take it for as long as you have been given it, even if your symptoms improve soon after you begin to take it. If you quit taking it too soon, the infection may reappear or become more severe. Some individuals may have nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea as a result of the medication. As your body becomes used to the medication, these side effects are typically only transient and disappear over the course of therapy. If any of these adverse effects concern you or do not go away, you should see your doctor. It is possible that this medication may cause your urine to become dark yellow or brown in colour. However, this is completely typical and should not be cause for concern. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, liver, kidney, or heart disease, as well as an allergy to any antibiotic should be disclosed to your doctor before beginning therapy with this medication.
How To Use Apo-Nitrofurantoin 100mg Tablet 100s
This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.
As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.
There is no contraindication in taking alcohol with Apo-Nitrofurantoin 100mg Tablet 100s. However, it is not advisable to consume alcohol while having UTI.
Pregnancy Warning (Maybe Safe)
Apo-Nitrofurantoin 100mg Tablet 100s has not shown any teratogenic effect in animal studies and has been extensively used in the treatment of UTI in pregnancy. However, this medication is contraindicated to be used at term gestation which is 38-42 weeks due to the risk of hemolysis of infant's immature red cells.
Breastfeeding Warning (Safe If Prescribed)
Apo-Nitrofurantoin 100mg Tablet 100s is safe to be used during breastfeeding, however, it must be avoided if the breastfeeding infant having erythrocyte enzyme deficiency and GPD deficiency.
Driving Warning (Not Advisable)
Apo-Nitrofurantoin 100mg Tablet 100s can cause impairment in the ability to drive and operating machines as it may cause side effects such as drowsiness and dizziness. Only drive if you are feeling well.
Kidney Warning (High Risk)
Apo-Nitrofurantoin 100mg Tablet 100s is contraindicated in patients with renal impairment
Liver Warning (Safe If Prescribed)
Apo-Nitrofurantoin 100mg Tablet 100s should be used with caution in patients with liver impairment
