Atacand 8mg Tablet is a drug that may be used alone or in conjunction with other drugs. It may be taken throughout the day or at night, with or without meals. To obtain the best benefit, try to take it at the same time every day. Even if you are feeling good, it is critical to continue taking it on a regular basis. Your illness may worsen if you stop using this medication. This is a commonly prescribed medication that is believed to be safe for long-term usage. Most individuals handle this medication well, and it has minimal negative effects. Some individuals have reported experiencing dizziness after taking the first dosage. This might be linked to a headache. If these side effects worry you or do not go away, contact your doctor. With consistent administration of this drug, no weight gain has been seen. If you have any kidney or liver issues, tell your doctor before taking this prescription. Before using it, pregnant or nursing moms should see their doctor. While you're taking this prescription, your doctor may check your kidney function, blood pressure, and potassium levels in your blood at regular intervals.
This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.
As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.
It is not advised to take alcohol while taking this medication as alcohol can accentuate the blood-pressure-lowering effects of Atacand 8mg Tablet 30s. This may cause the exacerbation of side effects while taking this medication such as dizziness.
Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)
Administration of this medication during first trimester of pregnancy is not recommended and is contraindicated in the second and third trimester as there is this medication that can induce fetotoxicity and neonatal toxicity. However, this medication may be taken by pregnant mothers with proper monitoring if only clearly indicated and the benefit clearly outweighs the risk.
Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)
No clear evidence of Atacand 8mg Tablet 30s safety in breastfeeding is available. As there are alternatives available with a clear safety profile in breastfeeding, usage of this medication during breastfeeding is not recommended.
Driving Warning (Not Advisable)
This medication may affect the ability to drive and operating machines as it may impair patients' concentrations due to its side effects such as dizziness and headache. Therefore, only drive if you are feeling well.
Kidney Warning (Use With Care)
Patients with renal impairment on this medication should be frequently monitored for serum potassium and creatinine levels. Dose titration is recommended for patient with severe renal impairment.
Liver Warning (Use With Care)
No dose adjustment needed in a patient with liver impairment taking Atacand 8mg Tablet 30s. Atacand 8mg Tablet 30s is safe in a patient with liver impairment.
Quick Tips
Atacand 8mg Tablet may cause a rapid decrease in your condition, particularly when you start using this medication. To decrease the risk of feeling dizzy or passing out, if you have been sitting or laying down, rise carefully.
Regular blood tests will be done to monitor your urea, creatinine, and potassium levels.
If you are pregnant or nursing, do not take Atacand 8mg Tablet.
Do not stop taking Atacand 8mg Tablet without first consulting your doctor.
