Casodex 50mg Tablet can be taken with or without food, ideally at a fixed time per day. Your doctor will determine which dosage you need and how much you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for, and it may vary from time to time. You should take it precisely as advised by your doctor. Using it in the wrongly or taking too much of it can have some severe side effects. It can take several weeks or months for you to see or experience the effectiveness, so do not quit taking them until your doctor tells you to.

It is necessary to tell your doctor before taking this medication whether you are taking or have recently taken some other medications for the same disease or any illness. Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by this medication, so let your doctor know all the medicines you are taking. This medication is not prescribed for pregnancy or during breast feeding. It could affect your baby. The use of appropriate contraceptives by both males and females during recovery is necessary to prevent pregnancy. You could be asked to monitor blood glucose levels on a daily basis while on medication.

This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.

Side Effects

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Taking this medication at the dosage and frequency prescribed by your doctor. Swallow it down as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it down. Casodex 50mg Tablet can be taken with or without food, but it is best taken at a set time.

Low red blood cell count is a very common side effect of this medication. Other than this, yellowing of skin, lack of appetite, shortness of breath, stomach pain, dark urine, and skin rashes are some of the side effects that require immediate treatment. Normal blood checks are needed to monitor your blood cells along with your liver function. It makes your skin more sensitive to sunlight, so take extra precaution while you're out.

Warning Precautions

Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)

Alcohol may exacerbate the side effects of Casodex 50mg Tablet 28s (box) such as facial flushing and dizziness. It is therefore not advisable to be consumed together.

Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe - High Risk)

Casodex 50mg Tablet 28s (box) is contraindicated to be used in women and hence during pregnancy as well due to its potential serious adverse effects on the women and the fetus.

Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)

Since it is not safe to be used by women, it is also contraindicated for breastfeeding mother to use Casodex 50mg Tablet 28s (box).

Driving Warning (Not Advisable)

It is not advisable to drive while taking Casodex 50mg Tablet 28s (box) as it can cause side effects such as dizziness and somnolence all of which can alter the concentration and ability to drive.

Kidney Warning (Use With Care)

Casodex 50mg Tablet 28s (box) is excreted via urine and the use of it mild to moderate renal impairment does not require dose adjustment. However, in severe renal impairment, caution should be taken and dose adjustment may be required.

Liver Warning (Use With Care)

Casodex 50mg Tablet 28s (box) is extensively metabolised by the liver and caution should be taken in moderate to severe hepatic impairment. Regular liver function test should be taken and alternative treatment should be considered in high-risk patients.

Use sunscreen and protective clothing when exposed to the sun as your skin will become more sensitive.
