How To Use Cellcept 250mg Capsule 100s

This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew or crush the capsule. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time if it is indicated for everyday use.

Side Effects

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Several side effects do not need immediate attention and vanish as the body responds to the drug. Consult the doctor if they continue or if you are concerned about them

The most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, chest pain, headache, high blood pressure, and increases in white blood cells. You may get more infection than normal, since the drug suppresses the immune system. Avoid exposure to the sun and use sunscreen. There is a long list of possible side effects of this drug. You should ask the doctor about them and what symptoms to look for, because some of them might be serious and require immediate medical attention.


Bacterial and fungal infections, Skin cancer, Anaemia, Bruising, Disoriented and confused, Difficulty to sleep (Insomnia), Dizziness, Headache, High or Low blood pressure, Tremor

Warning Precautions

Alcohol Warning (Safe)

It is safe to consume alcohol with Cellcept 250mg Capsule 100s as there is no known drug interaction.

Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)

Cellcept 250mg Capsule 100s may be unsafe to use during pregnancy as there is evidence of human foetal risk. It is contraindicated unless there is no alternative treatment to prevent rejection.

Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)

There is no information regarding the presence of Cellcept 250mg Capsule 100s in human breast milk. Therefore, Cellcept 250mg Capsule 100s is contraindicated to use during lactation due to possible adverse effects.

Driving Warning (Not Advisable)

Cellcept 250mg Capsule 100s has moderate influence on the ability to drive as it may cause side effects such as dizziness, headache, nausea or tiredness.

Kidney Warning (Use With Care)

In patients with severe chronic renal impairment, Cellcept 250mg Capsule 100s should be used with caution as certain dose should be avoided and titrated. Please consult your doctor.

Liver Warning (Use With Care)

Dose adjustment of Cellcept 250mg Capsule 100s is not necessary in patients with liver disease.

Quick Tips

  • Take Cellcept 250mg Capsule with meals to avoid stomach discomfort.
  • Cellcept 250mg Capsule should be taken according to the recommended dosage and duration.
  • Cellcept 250mg Capsule takes between 6 to 12 weeks to take effect.
  • Avoid contact with people who have an infection. Consult your doctor immediately if you develop a sore throat, a high fever, or any other symptoms of infection.
  • Use sunscreen and protective clothing when exposed to the sun as your skin will become more sensitive.

What If You Forget To Take

  • It may take between 6 and 12 weeks for Cellcept 250mg Capsule to start functioning. 
  • Keep taking as prescribed. It makes you less susceptible to getting infections. 
  • Stop being in touch with others who have an illness. Consult the doctor immediately if you have a sore throat, high temperature, or other symptoms of illness.
  • Cover yourself from direct sunshine by wearing reflective clothes and sunscreen with a high sun protection factor (SPF). 
  • Take it with food to minimise potential side effects, such as nausea and stomach pain. Your doctor can take daily blood tests to monitor blood cell levels in your blood. Tell the doctor if you have signs such as unexplained bruising or bleeding, sore throat, ulcers in the mouth, or fever.
