How To Use Combivir Tablet 60s
This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.
As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.
Headache, Nausea, Difficulty sleeping (insomnia), Nasal symptom, Abdominal cramp, Rash, Pain of the joint, Fatigue, Fever
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Combivir Tablet 60s as there is higher reported cases of osteonecrosis.It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Combivir Tablet 60s. Alcohol will further increase the risk of liver damage or lactic acidosis which may be life-threatening.
Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus such as early embryonic death. However, human studies have not shown any malformative effect to fetus or neonate. Animal studies have shown reproductive toxicity findings. However, Combivir Tablet 60s is proved to be effective in reducing rate of maternal-fetal transmission of HIV. Thus, the usage of Combivir Tablet 60s has to be cautious during pregnancy and its dosage has to be decided by a doctor.
Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)
There is no data regarding the safety of Combivir Tablet 60s administration to babies less than 3 months old. Combivir Tablet 60s is excreted in human milk. In HIV women, breastfeeding should be avoided to prevent HIV transmission.Combivir Tablet 60s is found to be excreted in human breast milk. Breastfeeding is also not advisable in a HIV-infected mother to prevent transmission of HIV.
Driving Warning (Limited Data)
There is no information on the safety of Combivir Tablet 60s administration and the ability to drive. There are no studies of Combivir Tablet 60s on the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Kidney Warning (Use With Care)
Dose adjustment of Combivir Tablet 60s may be needed and it should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.Dose adjustment is needed in patients with severe kidney impairment and patients under dialysis.
Liver Warning (Use With Care)
Combivir Tablet 60s can be used in patients with liver disease. However, it is not yet been studied in decompensated liver disease.Dose adjustment is needed in patients with moderate to severe liver impairment.
