Lofral 5mg Tablet may be used alone or in combination with other medications. The dosage is determined by the reason for your prescription and the severity of your illness. It may be taken with or without meals at any time of day, although it is recommended to take it at the same time each day. You should take this medication for the whole time that it has been recommended for you. Do not stop taking this medication on your own, even if you are feeling well. Your condition may worsen if you stop taking it. While using this medication, follow your doctor's instructions. Headache, tiredness, nausea, stomach discomfort, and drowsiness are the most frequent adverse effects. If any of these side effects concern you or do not go away, talk to your doctor. They may be able to advise you on how to avoid or lessen the negative effects. If you have any liver, heart, or renal issues, tell your doctor before taking it. Women who are pregnant or nursing should seek medical advice before using this medication. You should also inform your doctor about any other medications you're taking, particularly those for high blood pressure or heart problems.
How To Use Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s
This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.
As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.
Apart from the list of Coveram uses, there could be certain side-effects associated with the usage of the medication. Please refer to the list below:-

Stomach ache
Leg swelling
Ankle swelling
Rapid heart beat
Nausea
Flushing
While some these symptoms are more common, there are a few rare symptoms that could also occur. Coveram Drug Interactions
Drug to drug interaction reaction of Coveram varies from a person to another person. It is advisable to check with your doctor about all the possible drug interactions before starting the medication.

Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s. Taking Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s with alcohol may worsen the side effects of Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s such as headache, dizziness and visual disturbance. Furthermore, Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s is metabolised in the liver and alcohol consumption leads to a risk of liver damage.It is not advisable to consume alcohol with Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s. Taking Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s with alcohol may lower blood pressure and may increase certain side effects of the medication.
Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)
Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits of using Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s among pregnant women outweigh the risks. Please consult your doctor. Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s is unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown evidence of fetotoxicity and it may increase fetal and neonatal morbidity and death. However, there are no controlled data in human pregnancy and this will make it more dangerous to use. Adequate method of contraception should be made when patient is on this medication.
Breastfeeding Warning (Limited Data)
Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s is reported to be excreted into breast milk. However, the effect of the exposure towards the babies remains unknown. There is also stated that no side effects were reported with the exposure. Please consult your doctor for further details. Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s is not recommended to be taken when the mother is still breastfeeding the baby. Although the excretion into human milk is unknown, but it is excreted into animal milk. The effects towards the baby is unknown.
Driving Warning (Not Advisable)
Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s may cause side effects such as dizziness headache, tiredness or nausea, all of which could affect the ability to concentrate and drive.Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s may cause side effects such as palpitations, syncope, headache, visual disturbances, dyspnea etc. that is very dangerous to have especially while driving.
Kidney Warning (High Risk)
Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s is mostly excreted via urine. Thus, dose adjustment of Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s should be used with a proper prescription by a specialist in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s may be needed. Please consult your doctor regarding the benefits of using it.
Liver Warning (Use With Care)
The liver disease should use Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s with caution. It is extensively metabolised in the liver. Extensive use of Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s also increases the liver enzyme. Dose adjustment of Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s may worsen liver disease. It should be used with extreme caution in patients with liver disease and the dose adjustment of Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s may be needed. As Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s is metabolized in the liver, people with liver failure may have longer time to excrete it from the body and this makes the levels of Coveram 5/5mg Tablet 30s to be higher in the body and causes more side effects.

Coveram 5/5mg Tablet may cause a rapid decrease in your condition, particularly when you start using this medication. To decrease the risk of feeling dizzy or passing out, if you have been sitting or laying down, rise carefully.
May cause dizziness and tiredness. Use Coveram 5/5mg Tablet with caution when driving or doing activities that require attention until you know it affects you
Regular tests will be done while on treatment with Coveram 5/5mg Tablet.
Notify your doctor if you are diabetic or have kidney or renal problems before taking Coveram 5/5mg Tablet.
Since Coveram 5/5mg Tablet causes ankle or foot edema, raise your legs when sitting to minimise edema. See your doctor if it doesn't improve.
Coveram 5/5mg Tablet has the potential to raise potassium levels in the blood. Potassium supplements and potassium-rich foods like bananas and broccoli should be avoided.
Discuss with your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding.
