Daktarin 2% Oral Gel is exclusively for external use and should be used according to your doctor's instructions. Any contact with your eyes, nose, or mouth should be avoided. If you get it in these places by mistake, rinse it off with water. Your symptoms may take several days to improve, but you should continue to take this medication on a regular basis. Even if you feel better, do not stop taking it and finish the whole course of therapy. When you're ready to stop taking your medication, talk to your doctor. Some individuals may have mild side effects such as a burning feeling, itching, or irritation at the application site. These are generally transient and will go away on their own. If they irritate you or do not go away, see your doctor. If you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or nursing, you should notify your doctor before using this medication. If you have renal or liver illness, notify your doctor so that he or she can prescribe an appropriate dosage for you.
Make sure that your hands are clean and dry before using this medication. Using your finger, apply a small amount of gel on to the affected areas of your mouth, allow it to remain there for a while before you swallow. Ideally, you should not eat or drink for at least 30 minutes after using this medication, as it prevents the medication from being washed away too soon.
As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Quick Tips
Before and after applying the gel, wash your hands with soap.
Do not let anyone else use your towel or clothes.
To avoid infection, wear clean clothes every day.
Apply enough to cover the affected region as well as 1 inch of the skin immediately surrounding it.
Skin infections may require treatment for 2 to 6 weeks, while nail infections may require treatment for 6 weeks to 6 months. Even if you feel better, do not miss any doses and complete the entire course of treatment.
It's best not to get it in your eyes, nose, or mouth. If you are accidentally exposed, quickly rinse with plenty of water.
If you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding, tell your doctor.
