Introduction of Arava 20mg Tablet 30s

Arava 20mg helps reduce pain, swelling and redness. Arava 20mg Tablet is taken with or without food. You should take it regularly and every day at the same time to ensure the utmost benefits. Take this medicine and complete the dose even though you get better as advised by your doctor. Before taking this medication, inform the doctor if you have any heart, kidney or liver issues and make sure the medicine is safe for you. Tell your doctor of all your other medications. Your doctor may suggest routine blood tests to check for your liver or to check for blood counts. Before using the drug, mothers who are pregnant and breastfeeding should check with their doctors.

How To Use Arava 20mg Tablet 30s

This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.

Side Effects

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

The treatment of this medication will produce certain forms of typical adverse reactions such as nausea, headache, dyspepsia, rash, diarrhea. Contact your doctor if one of these side effects does not stop or get worse over time. Your doctor will help you reduce these symptoms or avoid them.


Low white cell count, Mild allergic reactions, Increased CPK enzyme, Headache, Dizziness, Peripheral neuropathy, Nausea and vomiting , Abdominal pain, Loss of appetite, Weight loss

Warning Precautions

Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Arava 20mg Tablet 30s as there are higher risk of liver toxicity.

Pregnancy Warning (Limited Data)

Arava 20mg Tablet 30s is unsafe to use during pregnancy as it can cause serious birth defects. Contraception must be used up to 2 years after treatment to avoid the adverse effects.

Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)

Arava 20mg Tablet 30s should not be used during lactation as animal studies indicate that Arava 20mg Tablet 30s or its metabolites pass into breast milk.

Driving Warning (Not Advisable)

Arava 20mg Tablet 30s may cause side effects such as dizziness, headaches, nausea or tiredness, all of which could affect your ability to concentrate and drive.Therefore, patients should restrain themselves from taking the medication whilst driving.

Kidney Warning (High Risk)

No dosage adjustment of Arava 20mg Tablet 30s in patients with mild kidney disease. Nevertheless, use of Arava 20mg Tablet 30s is contraindicated in patients with moderate to severe kidney disease as adverse effects cannot be excluded due to lacking clinical studies.

Liver Warning (Use With Care)

Liver function should be tested prior to administration of Arava 20mg Tablet 30s as it can cause liver impairment. Hence, it should not be used with other medications that can cause liver toxicity. Frequent liver function monitoring is required.

Quick Tips

  • Arava 20mg Tablet should be taken according to the recommended dosage and duration. It will take about 6-8 weeks to take effect. Continue to take Arava 20mg Tablet during this period.
  • Regular blood tests will be conducted to monitor your blood count and liver function while on Arava 20mg Tablet.
  • Do not drink alcohol while on Arava 20mg Tablet as it may further affect your condition and cause damage to your liver.
  • It is advisable to practice contraception while on Arava 20mg Tablet.
  • Do not take Arava 20mg Tablet and notify your doctor immediately if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Arava 20mg Tablet increases your risk of getting an infection. Avoid getting close to people with cold, flu or other infectious diseases.
  • Notify your doctor if you experince diarrhea or nausea while taking Arava 20mg Tablet.
