Terasin 2mg Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called alpha blockers. Terasin 2mg Tablet can be taken on its own or in combination with other medicines. It can be taken with or without food. The dosage will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine . Seek your doctor's advice on what's better for you. You need to take this medicine on a daily basis to make the most of it, so keep taking it even though you feel well. If you stop taking it, your blood pressure can increase and you may be at risk for complications. You would need to take it for the rest of your life.
If you are pregnant, worried about being pregnant or breast-feeding, ask your doctor before taking this drug. Also speak to the doctor before taking it if you have issues with heart,liver,kidney and if you have undergo any eye surgery. Your blood pressure will need to be monitored regularly when you are taking this medicine.
This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.
As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Asthenia - muscle weakness
Postural hypotension
Dizziness
Somnolence
Nasal congestion/rhinitis
Impotence

Precautionary Steps of Terasin 2mg Tablet 100s
Please consult a doctor especially before taking Terasin. If you have any of the following conditions & contraindications:-
Allergy to Terasin or any of its components
Hypersensitivity to Terasin or any of its components
Rule out presence of prostatic cancer prior to treatment
Hypotension / history of fainting from low blood pressure
Cataracts or glaucoma
Pregnancy
Breastfeeding
It is not recommended for use in children. Please keep out of reach from children.

Terasin Drug Interactions
Drug to drug interaction reaction of Terasin varies from a person to another person. It is advisable to check with your doctor about all the possible drug interactions before starting the medication.
Alcohol
Recreational drugs such as marijuana
Alpha-blockers - prazosin, tamsulosin
Drugs to treat erectile dysfunction or pulmonary hypertension - sidenafil, tadalafil

Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Terasin 2mg Tablet 100s. Taking Terasin 2mg Tablet 100s with alcohol may have worsened the additive effects of Terasin 2mg Tablet 100s such as headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, feeling of increased heartbeats and low blood pressure.
Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)
Terasin 2mg Tablet 100s may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown side effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies and the safety profile during pregnancy is not established. It should not be used unless the potential benefit outweighs the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Breastfeeding Warning (Limited Data)
Excretion of Terasin 2mg Tablet 100s in breast milk is still not known and the safety profile is not established in lactating women. Hence, it is not recommended during breastfeeding.
Driving Warning (Not Advisable)
Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Terasin 2mg Tablet 100s may cause side effects such as dizziness, headches or syncope, all of which could affect the ability to concentrate and drive.
Kidney Warning (Safe If Prescribed)
No dosage adjustments needed for patients with renal insufficiency.
Liver Warning (Limited Data)
Terasin 2mg Tablet 100s is metabolized extensively by the liver, therefore, dose adjustment is needed in individuals wiith impaired liver function. For patients with severe hepatic impairment, Terasin 2mg Tablet 100s usage is not recommended.
Quick Tips
This medication can cause a sudden drop in your blood pressure, particularly when you start taking this medicine first.
To lower the risk of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you've been sitting or lying down.
Do not drink alcohol when taking it as it can enhance the blood pressure lowering effect of this medication causing increased dizziness.
Be careful when driving or doing something that needs focus as it can cause dizziness and sleepiness.
Tell your doctor that you are taking this medication if you are scheduled for eye surgery.
