ETAS® is a new asparagus extract that reduces stress by lowering cortisol levels. ETAS® has been clinically proven to improve sleep, support mood and cognitive function, and protect neuronal cells. The majority of ETAS benefits ®'s come from inducing cytoprotective heat shock proteins.

The tender buds and upper part of the stem of the asparagus (Asparagus officinalis) are commonly used as nutritious vegetables. The tough main stem is usually discarded. Researchers discovered that the "waste" part of the stems contains novel compounds that can increase Heat Shock Protein production (HSP70). They help prevent protein misfolding that leads to serious neurodegenerative diseases such as Cystic Fibrosis, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). They stabilise new protein folding, remove improperly folded polypeptides, and assemble protein complexes.
