Wash your hands thoroughly with soap before and after inserting the suppository. Remove suppository from wrapper just before inserting it as they can soften in hot weather. Lie on one side with one knee raised towards the stomach. You may use a disposable glove and lubricate the tip of the suppository (if required) with a water-soluble lubricant. Gently push in the tapered end of the suppository into the anus with the fingers. Lower the leg and roll over onto the stomach. Remain lying down for a few minutes to allow the suppository to dissolve. Resist the urge to expel the suppository.
As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Alcohol Warning (Safe)
There is no clear contraindication on the consumption of alcohol when taking Salofalk 500mg Suppository 30s/Mesalamine.
Pregnancy Warning (Maybe Safe)
Salofalk 500mg Suppository 30s/Mesalamine has been shown in animal studies to not cause any harm or reproductive toxicity. Human pregnancy data also suggest similar safety profile even though Salofalk 500mg Suppository 30s crosses the placenta. It is therefore should be used with caution during pregnancy.
Breastfeeding Warning (Safe If Prescribed)
The metabolites of Salofalk 500mg Suppository 30s/Mesalamine has been detected in human breastmilk and thus it should be used with caution during breastfeeding.
Driving Warning (Not Advisable)
It is not advisable to drive when under Salofalk 500mg Suppository 30s/Mesalamine treatment due to its potential side effects such as headache and dizziness which can affect the ability to concentrate and drive.
Kidney Warning (High Risk)
Dosage adjustment is needed for patients with mild to moderate renal impairment and is contraindicated for patients with severe renal impairment.
Liver Warning (Safe If Prescribed)
Dosage adjustment may be needed for patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment and is contraindicated for patients with severe hepatic impairment.
Quick Tips
Regular tests may be conducted to monitor kidney and liver function before you start taking Salofalk 500mg Suppository and on a regular basis thereafter.
If your kidney or liver function is significantly impaired, tell your doctor.
If you are allergic to aspirin or have blood problems, do not use it.
Do not abruptly stop taking Salofalk 500mg Suppository without first seeing your doctor.
