How To Use HOE Benosone Ointment 15g

This medicine is for external use only. It should be applied to clean, dry and intact skin. Always wash your hands before and after using the lotion. Take an appropriate amount and massage gently the affected areas to facilitate the absorption. Replace cap tightly after each use.

Side Effects

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.
Apart from the list of Benosone uses, there could be certain side-effects associated with the usage of the medication. Please refer to the list below:-

  2. Maceration of the skin
  3. Secondary infection
  4. Striae
  5. Skin atrophy
  6. Miliaria
  7. Allergic reaction

While some these symptoms are more common, there are a few rare symptoms that could also occur. If you are feeling any other symptoms (whether it is mentioned in the above list or not), please consult with a doctor immediately. Please, consult with a doctor if you are having rashes or blurry visions. Report if you experience any other symptoms as the above list may not be exhaustive. These symptoms become more prominent as when one is undergoing a long term therapy with this medication.


Cushingoid facies, Hirsutism, Weight gain, Increased appetite, hyperhidrosis, Opportunistic infection, osteoporosis, Proximal myopathy, Sodium and water retention, Menstrual irregularity

Itchy Skin, Local Skin Burning Or Pain, Allergic Reaction At The Site Of Application, Worsening Of Condition, Application Site Irritation, Redness, Rash Or Hives, If You Have Psoriasis You May Get Raised Bumps With Pus Under The Skin. This Can Happen Very Rarely During Or After Treatment And Is Known As Pustular Psoriasis Skin Infection.

Warning Precautions

Precautionary Steps of HOE Benosone Ointment 15g

Please consult a doctor especially before taking Benosone. If you are having any of the following conditions & contraindications:-
  • Allergy to Benosone or any of its components
  • Hypersensitivity to Benosone or any of its components
  • Presence of skin infection (eg: Bacterial, viral, fungal or parasite infections)
  • Perioral dermatitis
  • Primary cutaneous viral infection (eg, herpes simplex, chickenpox)
  • Rosacea
  • Acne vulgaris
  • Skin atrophy
  • Skin TB
  • Vaccinia
  • Varicella
  • It is not recommended for children under the age of 1 years old and neonates. Please keep it out of reach from them
  • Pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding

Please stop using this medication if you are experiencing these symptoms and conditions.

 
Benosone Drug Interactions

Drug to drug interaction reaction of Benosone varies from a person to another person. It is advisable to check with your doctor about all the possible drug interactions before starting the medication.
  • Oral corticosteroids


This is an incomprehensive list of drug-to-drug interactions and conditions that might interfere with Benosone function. Do inform your doctor about all your current medications prior to using this drug.  

Keep the following precautions in mind as well:-
  • Avoid excess exposure to sunlight
  • Avoid this medicine for a longer use
  • This cream is not for use in the eyes
  • Avoid mucosal areas like the inside of your mouth and nose.
  • Avoid use in large areas 
  • Avoid prolonged use in children
  • Do not consume this product. 
  • Tell your doctor if you have any other diseases or if you are taking any other medication
  • Do not discontinue the prescribed course

Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)

Corticosteroids may cause dry skin. Drinking alcohol may aggravate its side effects. As HOE Benosone Ointment 15g Topical is used topically, the risk of interacting with alcohol consumed is negligible.

Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)

There is evidence of teratogenicity in animal studies. However, there is no evidence in human studiesHOE Benosone Ointment 15g Topical may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal reproduction studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus. However, there are limited well-controlled human studies. The benefits from the use of HOE Benosone Ointment 15g Topical in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Breastfeeding Warning (Limited Data)

HOE Benosone Ointment 15g is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data and animal studies suggest that HOE Benosone Ointment 15g does not represent a significant risk to nursing infants. However, HOE Benosone Ointment 15g needs to be taken with caution.HOE Benosone Ointment 15g Topical is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Animals studies showed HOE Benosone Ointment 15g Topical is excreted in the milk of rats. Limited human data suggests that HOE Benosone Ointment 15g Topical does not represent a significant risk to the baby.

Driving Warning (Generally Safe)

HOE Benosone Ointment 15g usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well. HOE Benosone Ointment 15g Topical should not affect alertness or driving ability.

Kidney Warning (Use With Care)

The effect of HOE Benosone Ointment 15g on the kidney is not known. However, it is safer to use with caution and consult a doctor before using this medication. HOE Benosone Ointment 15g Topical is safe to be used in patients with kidney impairment.

Liver Warning (Limited Data)

Long term usage of HOE Benosone Ointment 15g may cause liver damage such as hepatic enlargement and steatosis. It also may exacerbate nonalcoholic steatohepatitis chronic viral hepatitis HOE Benosone Ointment 15g Topical is generally safe for patients with liver disease.
