Alcohol Warning(Not Advisable)
Glymet 2.5/500mg Tablet 56s is known to have an effect similar to a drug called disulfiram, which is used to curb chronic alcoholism. It renders the patient being acutely sensitive to alcohol and feeling unwell.It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Glymet 2.5/500mg Tablet 56s. Alcohol intoxication can increase the risk of lactic acidosis particularly in case of fasting, malnutrition or hepatic impairment.
Pregnancy Warning(Not Safe)
Glymet 2.5/500mg Tablet 56s may be unsafe to use during pregnancy as animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus and human studies also showed some adverse effect. Therefore, please consult your doctor to discuss the benefits over the risks of taking sulfonylurea due to their chance of having too low blood sugar.Glymet 2.5/500mg Tablet 56s should be safe to use during pregnancy because either animal or human studies have not shown any adverse effects on the fetus, however, uncontrolled hyperglycemia in people with PCOS can increase the risk of congenital abnormalities and intrauterine death.
Breastfeeding Warning(Not Advisable)
Glymet 2.5/500mg Tablet 56s being excreted into the breast milk has not been made certain but the risk of having a baby with too low blood sugar cannot be excluded. Therefore, it isn't safe for breastfeeding.Limited human studies suggest that Glymet 2.5/500mg Tablet 56s does not represent a significant risk to the baby when used during pregnancy. In regards to limited data, please consult your doctor to decide on discontinuation of breastfeeding or Glymet 2.5/500mg Tablet 56s.

Patients with severe kidney disease are contraindicated from taking Glymet 2.5/500mg Tablet 56s.Glymet 2.5/500mg Tablet 56s is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease, especially in patients with creatinine clearance less than 60mL/min. Patients with severe kidney disease has high risk to get lactic acidosis. Dose adjustment of Glymet 2.5/500mg Tablet 56s and regular check up to monitor renal function may be needed. Please consult your doctor before consumption.
Liver Warning(Use With Care)
Glymet 2.5/500mg Tablet 56s may require dose adjustments for patients with liver disease so please consult your doctor before starting Glymet 2.5/500mg Tablet 56s. However, patients with severe liver disease are contraindicated from taking Glymet 2.5/500mg Tablet 56s.Glymet 2.5/500mg Tablet 56s should be used with caution in patients with liver disease due to increased risk of lactic acidosis. Quick Tips
It is usually taken with first meal of the day (usually breakfast).Take it regularly. Avoid using heavy equipment or driving while taking it. Do not use it together with other antidiabetic medication and alcohol. It may cause hypoglycemic symptoms. Do not miss meal after taking it.This may lead to hypoglycemia. Carry sweet food or fruit juice for symptom relief like cold sweats, pale skin, trembling, and anxiety which may due to hypoglycemia. Your doctor may perform routine liver tests.
