Alcohol Warning(Not Advisable)
Alcohol may accentuate hypoglycaemic effect caused by Hovid Glimicron 80mg Tablet 100s. Thus, it is not advisable to consume alcohol during the treatment with Hovid Glimicron 80mg Tablet 100s.
Pregnancy Warning(Not Safe)
Animal studies have shown reproductive toxicities and prolonged severe hypoglycaemia has been reported in newborns to mother receiving Hovid Glimicron 80mg Tablet 100s at time of delivery. Thus, it is contraindicated during pregnancy. Please consult your doctor.
Breastfeeding Warning(Not Advisable)
There are no data on the effect of Hovid Glimicron 80mg Tablet 100s upon breastfed babies. Thus, Hovid Glimicron 80mg Tablet 100s is contraindicated during breastfeeding. Please consult your doctor.
Driving Warning (Generally Safe)
Hovid Glimicron 80mg Tablet 100s usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Kidney Warning(High Risk)
Dose adjustment may be needed in patients with moderate kidney impairment. It is contraindicated in patients with severe kidney impairment. Please consult your doctor.

Precautionary Steps of Hovid Glimicron 80mg Tablet 100s
Please consult a doctor especially before taking Glimicron. If you have any of the following conditions & contraindications:-
Patients with G6PD deficiency
Patient under high stress load (surgery, infection, trauma)
Mild to moderate renal and hepatic impairment
Hypersensitivity to Glimicron or other sulfonylureas
Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus
Diabetic ketoacidosis
Severe renal and hepatic impairment
Pregnancy and lactation
Miconazole use
Please stop using this medication if you are experiencing these symptoms and conditions.
Glimicron Drug Interactions
Drug to drug interaction reaction of Glimicron varies from a person to another person. It is advisable to check with your doctor about all the possible drug interactions before starting the medication.
Increased hypoglycemic effect with use of phenylbutazone, other antidiabetics, β-blockers, ACE inhibitors, H2-receptor antagonists, MAOIs, sulfonamides, clarithromycin and NSAIDs
Reduced hypoglycemic effect with use of Chlorpromazine, glucocorticoids, ritodrine, salbutamol and terbutaline.
Increases effect of warfarin
Potentially fatal hypoglycemia if used with miconazole

Quick Tips
Gliclazide 80mg Tablet is best taken before or with the first meal (usually breakfast).
Do not skip your meals as it may further affect your condition.
Get daily exercise, eat a balanced diet, and take your other medications (if prescribed).
Regular monitoring of blood sugar level is advised while on Gliclazide 80mg Tablet.
Use Gliclazide 80mg Tablet with caution when driving or doing activities that requires attention until you know it affects you.
If you use other similar medication, alcohol, or if you are delaying or miss a meal, you can induce hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level).
Do take sugar or fruit juice with you in the condition of hypoglycemic symptoms such as cold sweats, cool pale skin, tremor and anxiety.
Your doctor will periodically review the function of your liver.
Notify your doctor if you have symptoms, including stomach pain, appetite loss or eye or skin yellowing (jaundice).
What If You Forget To Take
You should skip a dose of Glimicron 80mg Tablet if a meal is skipped, and add a dose of medicine if you eat an extra meal.
