How To Use Fastum 2.5% Gel 50g

This medicine is for external use only. It should be applied to clean, dry and intact skin. Always wash your hands before and after using the gel. Take an appropriate amount and massage gently to the affected areas. Replace cap tightly after each use.

Side Effects

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.
Apart from the list of Fastum Gel uses, there could be certain side-effects associated with the usage of the medication. Please refer to the list below:-
  1. gastrointestinal disturbance 
  2. Rash
  3. Itchiness 
  4. Eczema 
  5. Burning sensation 
  6. Hypersensitivity 
  7. Weakened immune system
  8. Blisters 

While some these symptoms are more common, there are a few rare symptoms that could also occur. If you are feeling any other symptoms (whether it is mentioned in the above list or not), please consult with a doctor immediately. Please, consult with a doctor if you are having rashes or blurry visions. Report if you experience any other symptoms as the above list may not be exhaustive. These symptoms become more prominent as when one is undergoing a long term therapy with this medication.

Drowsiness, Dizziness, Nausea, Vomiting, Abdominal discomfort, Urticaria, Skin rash, Tinnitus, Blurring of vision, Swelling of the limbs

Precautionary Steps of Fastum 2.5% Gel 50g

Please consult a doctor especially before taking Fastum Gel. If you have any of the following conditions & contraindications:-
  • Eczema
  • Acne
  • Infected skin
  • Open wounds 
  • Skin lesions 
  • Heart problems 
  • Liver problems 
  • Kidney problems 
  • History of peptic ulcer
  • Inflammatory bowel disease
  • Asthma 
  • Pregnancy 
  • Lactation 

Please stop using this medication if you are experiencing these symptoms and conditions.

 
Fastum Gel Drug Interactions

Drug to drug interaction reaction of Fastum Gel varies from a person to another person. It is advisable to check with your doctor about all the possible drug interactions before starting the medication.
  • Oral anticoagulants 
  • Other NSAIDs
  • Antihypertensive drugs 
  • Anti-diabetic medication
  • Probenecid 
  • Methothrexate 

This is an incomprehensive list of drug interactions and conditions that might interfere with Fastum Gel. Before taking this drug, inform your doctor about all your present medications.

Keep the following precautions in mind as well:-
  • For external use only
  • Avoid excess exposure to sunlight
  • Avoid this medicine for a longer use
  • Tell your doctor if you have any other diseases or if you are taking any other medication

Alcohol Warning (Not Advisable)

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Fastum 2.5% Gel 50g. Taking Fastum 2.5% Gel 50g with alcohol may increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.

Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)

Fastum 2.5% Gel 50g may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. It should be avoided in the first and second trimester of pregnancy and is contraindicated especially during the 3rd trimester or near delivery. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus. However, there are limited human reproductive studies. The benefits from the use of Fastum 2.5% Gel 50g in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)

Fastum 2.5% Gel 50g is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Some amounts of oral Fastum 2.5% Gel 50g are excreted in breast milk whereas the topical Fastum 2.5% Gel 50g is absorbed into the skin, hence it should not be used during breastfeeding.

Driving Warning (Not Advisable)

Do not drive unless you are feeling well. Fastum 2.5% Gel 50g may cause side effects such as sleepiness, dizziness, drowsiness, tiredness or visual disturbances, all of which could affect the ability to concentrate and drive.

Kidney Warning (High Risk)

Oral and rectal administration of Fastum 2.5% Gel 50g is contraindicated in patients with severe kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.

Liver Warning (Use With Care)

Oral and rectal administration of Fastum 2.5% Gel 50g is contraindicated in patients with severe liver impairment. Please consult your doctor.
