How To Use Kaletra 200/50mg Tablet 120s
This medicine is for oral use only. Swallow this medication as a whole with water. Do not chew, crush or break it. It is better to take this medication at a fixed time each day if it is indicated for everyday use.
As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.
Diarrhea, Abdominal pain, Headache, Indigestion (Dyspepsia), Vomiting, Palpitation, Agitation and confusion, Tinnitus, Acne, Dry skin and skin discoloration
It is safe to consume alcohol with Kaletra 200/50mg Tablet 120s as there is no known drug interactions.Alcohol may accentuate the liver damage caused by Kaletra 200/50mg Tablet 120s. Thus, it is not advisable to consume alcohol and Kaletra 200/50mg Tablet 120s concomitantly.
Pregnancy Warning (Limited Data)
Kaletra 200/50mg Tablet 120s may be safe to use during pregnancy if it is clinically indicated. Human studies have not shown any adverse effects to fetal formation.Animal studies have shown reproductive toxicities but human studies have not shown any reproductive toxicities. Thus, Kaletra 200/50mg Tablet 120s can be used during pregnancy if needed.
Breastfeeding Warning (Not Advisable)
It is not known whether Kaletra 200/50mg Tablet 120s is excreted in human milk. Adverse risk effect cannot be excluded. Therefore, it is not recommended for Kaletra 200/50mg Tablet 120s to be used during lactation. Also, mothers with HIV should avoid breastfeeding their babies to avoid transmission. Excretion of Kaletra 200/50mg Tablet 120s is found in human breast milk but there is no information on the effects of Kaletra 200/50mg Tablet 120s on breastfed babies. An HIV-infected woman should not breastfeed to prevent HIV transmission, developing viral resistance and serious side effects onto the breastfed babies. Please consult your doctor.
Driving Warning (Limited Data)
There is no information regarding the effects of Kaletra 200/50mg Tablet 120s whilst driving. However, patients should be informed that there is a risk of nausea when taking Kaletra 200/50mg Tablet 120s. Kaletra 200/50mg Tablet 120s usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Kidney Warning (High Risk)
Kaletra 200/50mg Tablet 120s is contraindicated in patients with kidney failure. Kaletra 200/50mg Tablet 120s is safe to be used in patients with kidney impairment.
Liver Warning (Use With Care)
In patients with liver disease, the use of Kaletra 200/50mg Tablet 120s is contraindicated.No dose adjustment needed for patients with mild to moderate liver impairment. However, Kaletra 200/50mg Tablet 120s is contraindicated in patients with severe liver impairment. Please consult your doctor.
