Introduction of Momate Ointment 15g

Momate Ointment is a topical steroid. It helps to minimize symptoms such as swelling, itching, and redness.

Momate Ointment should only be used as the doctor has recommended. It is only for use on the skin, avoid using the cream or ointment on your face for more than the suggested duration. Do not cover the region that needs to be treated with a bandage or plaster until your doctor advises you to. You should constantly use this medication, but should not apply large amounts or use it for longer than your doctor prescribed. 

Let the doctor know about any medical issues you have, such as skin thinning, any skin injury, damaged or ulcerated skin, diabetes, and problems with the immune system. Tell the doctor about other drugs you are taking (particularly steroids). Before taking this medicine, pregnant or breastfeeding women should check with the doctor.

How To Use Momate Ointment 15g

This medicine is for external use only. It should be applied to clean, dry and intact skin. Always wash your hands before and after using the lotion. Take an appropriate amount and massage gently the affected areas to facilitate the absorption. Replace cap tightly after each use.

Side Effects

As with all medications, you may experience some side effects. Not everyone experiences it. This is not a cause for concern. However, it is so that you are aware of it.

Many side effects require minimal medical assistance and fades as the body responds to the medicine. Speak to the doctor if they continue or if you are particularly worried.

Momate Ointment has a few potential adverse effects, but not everyone would have them. This may include skin thinning or a difference in skin colour, swelling, stinging and scratching. It is uncommon to have a severe allergic reaction to this medicine, so let the doctor know whether you are affected by side effects or if they do not subside. Not all creams are going to work and may worsen skin conditions.

Alcohol Warning (Safe)

It is safe to consume alcohol while using Momate Ointment 15g.As Momate Ointment 15g Topical is used topically, the risk of interacting with alcohol consumed is negligible.

Pregnancy Warning (Not Safe)

Animal studies have demonstrated adverse effects on the fetus such as cleft palate and intra-uterine growth retardation, however, there are inadequate human studies. Potential benefits may justify the usage of Momate Ointment 15g in pregnancy despite the risks. Infants whose mothers received corticosteroids in pregnancy must be monitored carefully for hypoadrenalism.Momate Ointment 15g Topical may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Animal reproduction studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus. However, there are limited well-controlled human studies. The benefits from the use of Momate Ointment 15g Topical in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Breastfeeding Warning (Limited Data)

It is not known whether Momate Ointment 15g or its metabolites are excreted in human breast milk. The decision to discontinue Momate Ointment 15g or breastfeeding depends on the potential benefit of treatment to the mother over the benefit of breastfeeding to the infant.Momate Ointment 15g Topical is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Animals studies showed Momate Ointment 15g Topical is excreted in the milk of rats. Limited human data suggests that Momate Ointment 15g Topical does not represent a significant risk to the baby.

Driving Warning (Generally Safe)

Momate Ointment 15g usually does not affect the ability to drive. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Momate Ointment 15g Topical should not affect alertness or driving ability.

Kidney Warning (Use With Care)

Momate Ointment 15g should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease, even though there is limited data on the effects.Momate Ointment 15g Topical is safe to be used in patients with kidney impairment.

Liver Warning (Limited Data)

It is recommended to use Momate Ointment 15g with caution in patients with liver impairment as the concentrations of Momate Ointment 15g increases according to the severity of impairment. Momate Ointment 15g Topical is generally safe for patients with liver disease.

Quick Tips

  • Momate Ointment should be applied as a thin layer to the afflicted regions two or three times daily, or as directed by your doctor.
  • Do not apply Momate Ointment more than recommended by the doctor
  • Unless instructed by a doctor, do not cover the area being treated with airtight coverings such as bandages, as this may increase the risk of adverse effects.
  • Stop applying Momate Ointment and see your doctor if you believe the region of skin you're treating has gotten infected.
  • If your skin condition has not improved after 2 weeks of therapy, see your doctor.

What If You Forget To Take

If you miss a dose of Momate Ointment, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
