Cyber Security Engineer

Duties

• Help build a data security culture within the company through awareness initiatives
• Analyze and assess vulnerabilities in the infrastructure (software, hardware, networks)
• Investigates tools and countermeasures to remedy the detected vulnerabilities, and recommends solutions and best practices
• Setup architecture to detect and monitor intrusions, threats, DDoS, log security data
• Tests for compliance with security standards, security policies and procedures
• Assist in the creation, implementation, and/or management of security solutions
• Work with client IT teams to comply with client IT security requirements

Technical Requirements

• Experience in JavaScript and HTML5 is mandatory
• Experience in AngularJS or Angular, WebPack beneficial
• Experience in AWS or equivalent cloud platforms and security controls e.g. HIPAA
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
• Experience with NodeJS and ExpressJS or equivalent
• Experience with relational databases PostgreSQL
• Experience with NoSQL databases like Google Firebase or MongoDB

Additional Experience Considerations

• 2+ years experience in a hands-on technical role in Cyber Security Engineering for Security Operations, or Security Monitoring solutions Engineering
• Familiar with data security standards and frameworks e.g. ISO27001, HIPAA
• Familiar with web vulnerabilities and fixes e.g. OWASP
• Advantage with knowledge in cloud security architecture e.g. SIEM, TCP/IP, TLS
• Advantage with knowledge in database security
• Advantage with previous cyber security roles and penetration testing
• Advantage with background in setting up HIPAA compliant architecture
• Advantage with knowledge in automated testing tools e.g. SonarCloud, Cypress
