Cough has not Rehabilitation

Hi last 2week i have been to KL 4days When I went back that day, I started to get sick, such as a slight sore throat, a runny nose, and a cough the next day. Later, I went to the clinic and the doctor said that I got an influenza doctor and gave me some medicine and let me rest for three days. But I I did n’t follow the doctor ’s order to take a three-day break. I chose to work but I had a mask. After a few days, my illness got better, but my cough was not completely good now, it ’s like a dry cough.Sometimes I also feel chest tightness

Hi!

Thank you for your question. I understand that you are worried about the risk of COVID-19 infection. Symptoms of influenza and covid are similar to one another. The only way to identify the cause is to do a blood test. According to WHO, the common symptoms of COVID-19 infection are:

  • Fever (more than 37.5 degrees celcius)
  • Fatigue
  • Cough
  • Aches and pains
  • Sorethroat
  • Headaches
  • Shortness of breath

Based on your symptoms, you are encouraged to answer the quiz on Risk Assessment for COVID-19 to evaluate your health status in regards to this disease. After completing this quiz, you will be classified into several categories.

As you have consulted a doctor and receive a diagnosis of influenza, it is best for you to continue on the treatment given. Prolonged cough following influenza can be normal. Neverthless if your symptoms get worst, please visit the nearest clinic.

You may consult a MOH doctor by clicking Ask Doctor at the Ministry of Health website (COVID-19 Portal) to ask any health issues related to COVID-19 starting from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.

After 5.00 pm till 12.00 am, please direct your enquiries to our DoctorOnCall website at this link https://www.doctoroncall.com.my/tanya/.
