Hello and good afternoon. Thank you for your queries.
For your information, implanon is an subdermal implant device planted inside your body to prevent pregnancy by secreting Etonogestrel, a synthetic biological active product of progestin. Progestin is a hormone that regulates the growth of the lining of the uterus and regulates the menstrual cycle. There are a few side effects that may come with using this method of contraceptive, which is:
- Nausea and stomach cramps
- Dizziness
- Mood changes
- Breast pain
- Acne and hair loss
- Weight gain
- Menstrual cramps
- Device infection
- Device bruising and tingling
Based on the information listed above, the milky discharge from the vagina after the implantation might be due to your body that is adjusting towards the new hormonal implant/medicine. This could take a few months to stop. However, it may be caused by other diseases such as a Sexual Transmitted infection or causes like bacterial vaginosis or cervical cancer. Do check with your doctor regarding this problem if it still persists for a long time.
Futhermore, ther are some cases where new users of this method of contraception experience delay in period. However, a delay in period is stronly affected by stress, diet and hormonal imbalance.
