Infrared Thermometer

Good morning Doctor, we are using infrared thermometer to check our staffs body temperature with distance of 2-3cm. Sometimes we get rating with range 34.2 degree Celsius, is this normal rating?

As noted 37.5 and above consider sign of fever. we have some inquiry the different rating for oral thermometer and infrared thermometer .Any diff rating with this 2 devices, if infrared thermometer 37 and abv, consider sign of fever?

First and foremost, we truly understand your concerns regarding this issue as there are different types of thermometer available.

The normal body temperature range are between 36.1 - 37.2 Celsius. Hypothermia is when the teperature fall under 35 Celsius. However it might be due to the surrounding temperature is cold. In this kind of case, you might want to repeat it again to check for the temperature.

The general rules for fever is above 37.5 Celsius, no matter what thermometer you use. Each of them won’t have different normal range.
