Chest discomfort when I lie down, the sensation of hard to breathe
I’m 35 years old female.
yesterday night i started feeling discomfort on my chest like tightness. it made feel like it was hard to breathe. i was so worried, i don’t know if my concern just made it worse. this morning after i woke, the feeling went away, but at night i started to feel like it came again.
I’m really not sure if this just a panic attack, or something serious that i should be worried about.
there were no obvious accompanied symptoms. but reading online about heart attack warning signs, just make me feel horrible about it.

Hi and thank you for the question.
Through the explanation you gave above, I understand the concern you might have over this matter. For your information, there are a few factors that could cause the problems you are having as in:
- asthma
- pneumonia is an infection of the lungs
- chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- pulmonary embolism is blockage of the artery leading to the lungs
- pulmonary hypertension is a high blood pressure condition affecting the arteries of the lung
- stress and anxiety
- heart conditions as heart attack
Although this is a general explanation of the condition, I advice you to go to the nearest clinic if you are having these symptoms,:
- shortness of breath becomes severe
- shortness of breath keeps you doing daily activities
- shortness of breath when lying down
- swelling in the ankles and feet
- high fever and chills
- cough
