Greetings, thank you for your question.

Based on the above information, we understand your concern about the problem you’re having. For your information, fast heart beat ie tachycardia can be due to various things. Tachycardia occurs when something disrupts the normal electrical impulses that control your heart rate. These include:

  • congenital heart disease
  • anaemia
  • hyperthyroidism
  • (very) low or high blood pressure
  • smoking
  • psychological stress or anxiety
  • exercise
  • drinking too much caffeinated drinks or alcohol
  • side effects of medications
  • use of recreational drugs
  • family history tachycardia.

Tachycardia can lead to other complications depending on its severity, such as heart failure, heart attack, stroke, fainting spells or sudden death. To prevent tachycardia, it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle to lower your risk of developing heart disease.

  • Eat a healthy diet such as low-fat, low-sodium diet rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
  • Exercise regularly. Exercise for at least 30 minutes 5 times a week or do vigorous aerobic exercises 20 minutes 3 times a week.
  • Maintain a healthy weight. Keep your BMI less than 25 and waist circumference less than 35 inches.
  • If you do smoke, quit smoking.
  • Drink caffeinated drinks in moderation. Limit yourself to 1 to 2 drinks daily.
  • Drink alcohol in moderation. Limit yourself to 1 drink a day.
  • Learn to manage stress through coping techniques like deep breathing exercises and meditation.
  • Use medications as prescribed by doctor
  • Go for regular health screenings to keep high blood pressure and cholesterol under control.

Tachycardia can also, (as listed above) mean something serious. You should schedule a checkup and report your signs and symptoms to your doctor.
