Chest pain from sleeping position
I’m a woman in my early 30s and have been experiencing chest pain. It started early last year when I would wake up with mild vague discomfort/feeling like pressure in my chest area though no difficulty in breathing or shortnest of breath. The pain would last for few hours or sporadic through the day. The pain also is never on the same area, sometimes its on the left chest sometime right or middle. There have been 2 occations when the pain was really obvious and it centered on my sternum and would hurt for days. If I take a deep breath or push a little on my sternum it would really hurt. I’ve realised earlier on that the chest pains correlates with my sleeping position. If I sleep on my sides then i’ll have chest pain the next day (also to note that I’ve always slept on my sides but starting last year it seems to be causing my chest pain) so i’ve taken to make sure that i sleep on my back and it has resolved the issue somewhat as I do unconciously move to my side when asleep and have still continue to have mild discomfort in my chest area. I’m wondering if my sleeping position is the cause of my pain or if there’s more to it and I should seek medical attention?
