Vaccine safe for a weak stroke patient?

My dad is a stroke patient for 2years plus, and inconvenient on his right part of body, is it safe for him to take Sinovac vaccine? is there anything we need to check or concern about before the vaccine?

Greetings,

Thank you for choosing us to get an opinion regarding your health issues.

Based on your explanations, you are worried about a stroke patient taking the vaccine. I will give you the related information regarding this problem.

For your information, there are a few conditions that will contraindicate vaccination which are

  • Those that experience severe allergies, anaphylaxis after receiving 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine (will not be advised to continue the second dose)
  • Those that have severe allergies, anaphylaxis to other vaccines, medication, or other substance

However, I would recommend your dad to visit the doctor on duty at the vaccination center before taking the vaccine. He will do a short examination and see if he is fit to get the vaccine tomorrow.

I hope I have answered your question.
