Hemorrhoid medication enquiry

Hi, last month during my first day of period, I developed external haemorrhoid size about 1.2cmx0.6cmx0.7cm. On the 4th day, I started taking Hemorid tablets for 9 days(from 3 to 2 to 1 times a day). My haemorrhoid completely resolved after finishing the course. This month, on the first day of period again I have the same size external haemorrhoid but it wasn’t as painful as last time. Immediately I started Hemorid tablets and a topical cream prescribed by doctor. Within 12 hours, the haemorrhoid completely disappeared. My question is, can I stop the Hemorid tablets? I’ve already taken 3 doses (2 tablets every 8 hours). The doctor prescribed it for the same 9 days course as last month.

Hi and thank you for your inquiry.

The haemorrhoid tablets and cream should be taken as prescribed by your doctor in terms of its amount (in a day) as well as duration (days). This is because the doses and duration for the tablets/cream given are based on the history you have given which the symptom coincided with your period as well. However, if the haemorrhoids is worsen despite taking the tablets and cream, you should seek your doctor again to see whether there is a need to change the dose or adding new tablets.

Hello and goodmorning. For doctors to make a diagnosis and plan a treatment strategy, we need to carry out further consultation, physical examination, and tests.
It’s the best if you go to clinic and from there the doctor will be able to decide. You can go to the same or different clinic for different opinion.

Some hemorrhoids need only medications and some need surgery. Hoping you will get better soon.
