Sudden trouble breathing, cold sweats, paleness, shaking,

I am a 19 years old female. First started years ago, i will suddenly have trouble breathing, paleness, cold sweat, shaking, numbness in limbs, feeling dry in mouth, nausea, and can’t stand up. Usually lasts 15-30 minutes. It occurs when i have stomach cramps, period, cramps, getting blood drawn, getting bitten by a dog, suddenly eating/drinking, getting a piercing, not eating for long periods of time, or for no reason at all. I also get headaches easily, a few days in a week. It gets in the way of my life, I have had to be sent home from school many times as it occurs randomly. I am scared of it happening during important events like during exams and when I am out alone.

Hello and good morning.
Thank you for your question.

Based on your question, I understand that you are worried about your problem. I will try to help you.

The symptoms you stated in your question are mostly general symptoms, and the possible causes of them are endless. You can try ruling out the possible causal system starting by blood studies and investigate further. However, if the results turn out completely normal, you are most likely experiencing emotional swings either from anxiety, panic disorder, depression and life circumstances (social/school life).

Here are some tips to relieve these symptoms.

  • Find the possible physical cause through investigation
  • Get enough rest and sleep
  • Healthy daily routine
  • Get a hobby to release your stress, if possible handle the stress trigger wisely
  • Get advices from your friends, family or counsellor

You can also contact our doctor online for further information and management.

I hope this answer helps you. Thank you.
